Fixed mortgage rates dropped to their lowest levels since this summer, giving a lift this week to the housing recovery. 

"Mortgage rates slid this week as the partial government shutdown led to market speculation that the Federal Reserve will not alter its bond purchases this year,” says Frank Nothaft, Freddie Mac’s chief economist. 

Mortgage rates have been dropping since September when the Federal Reserve decided to delay tapering its $85-billion per month bond purchasing program, which has been keeping rates low.

October 26 (12PM to 4PM) - 13th Annual Green Halloween Festival at Issaquah Highlands

The Cascade Team Real Estate is happy to support and be a part of the 13th annual Green Halloween being celebrated at Grand Ridge Plaza at the Issaquah Highlands.

A flash mob performance of “Thrill the World” at noon and again at 4 p.m. Zombies will then hop a trolley to downtown Issaquah and join the performance there at 5 p.m.

There will be carnival rides and games, pony rides, inflatable’s, laser tag, great food and music, and lots of giveaways such as yummy free samples of alternative treats.

Verrado is currently sitting at 65 active homes for sale, including 7 homes accepting back up offers.  There are now currently 32 pending homes in Verrado, with 14  of these new construction homes or presale lots.  Overall, new construction home activity remains consistent, but the overall market has not seen the fall activity bump we normally see once the weather cools down; possibly due to interest rate hikes and the political turmoil over the last number of weeks.  However, if you, or anyone you know, is looking at new construction, Axia Home Loans is currently offering a lock and shop program that will allow you to lock a rate up to six months in advance.
